Thierry Hermés designed the original equestrian harness in 1837 for their primary clientele of horses and their riders! The design was coveted and remarked upon for its sleek sensibilities. As a result, it was no surprise when, in 1927, he made his first piece of jewelry in its likeness. The piece was the Filet de Selle bracelet, translating to 'saddle net' and featuring a large horsebit motif.
